Open or print a blank copy (I recommend printing a paper copy if possible) of the 2020 DBQ Practice and Annotation Guide 2. Set up a second screen or open a second window with the 2020 APUSH Cheat Sheet Period 3-7. 3. Set timer for 15 minutes (and set phone to airplane mode) 4. Open this DBQ question and document packet and begin (complete for only the first 5 documents!): In the 15 minutes you should: A. Question Analysis
B. Read/skim through “Cheat Sheet” for the time period of essay to remind yourself of the important developments of the time period (and to get your outside examples) C. Welcome back from vacation! Now it's time to get down to business prepping for the AP exam in a few short weeks! Today, I'm asking you to complete your first practice DBQ. I am not able to host a live review session today, so you can complete the task anytime between now and the start of class on Wednesday. Be sure to read through all of the instructions below before beginning: 1. Set up your workspace and prepare materials A. Get paper if you are handwriting or open an electronic document if you plan to type. B. Print 2020 DBQ Practice and Annotation Guide C. Print 2020 DBQ Rubric D. If possible, set up second screen to view DBQ document packet and 2020 APUSH Cheat Sheet Period 3-7 while writing. E. Set a timer for 45 mins. F. Turn phone to airplane mode so you are not distracted by calls, texts, or other notifications. 2. Click here for the DBQ question and document packet. Start your timer (for 45 mins) and begin! 3. Recommended Strategy: A. Reading/Question Analysis/Planning (10-15 mins)

I thought it might be interesting in light of what you learned about the Civil Rights Movements and its successes and failures. Please head to Google Classroom for today's assignment (Period 3 Review). I also want to let you know that on Monday at 11:00 am I plan to hold a live Zoom video session to address the additional AP test details that the College Board is supposed to release on Friday. I also want to answer some of the questions you guys have come up with in your first couple of Period Reviews. It is not mandatory to attend the video session if it is not possible for you. But I strongly encourage you to make it happen if at all possible. I do plan to post a video of the meeting afterwards for those unable to be there. Thanks! |
