Hi Everyone,
This will be the last "class" of the year. I'm so sorry that things turned out the way they did and that we missed out on the last third of the year together. I hope you are all doing well and have a good summer. At least we live in Maine and by the ocean, and are about to have a couple of months to enjoy both! For today's class, please finish up any of the recent assignments that you are still working on and make sure they are submitted by Friday 5/29, as that is the last day to receive credit for assignment submissions. Thanks for a great year (until March that is)! Mr. Parise

Hi Everyone,
I hope you've been enjoying the nice weather and had a good long weekend. Below you will find the FINAL America's Response assignment of the year. Not A final, but simply the last assignment. Unlike the other assignments, however, this is due by Friday 5/29 if you'd like credit for it. Here is today's assignment: Assignment #36 1. Read: Trump may be tiptoeing toward a break with Xi 2. Course Reflection Question - answer in a 1/2 to one page paragraph (typed, double spaced, size 12): Think back over the topics we've covered this year: The US Role in the World, the basics of US Government, Civics and the Constitution, Climate Change, Immigration, America's Response to COVID-19, and US-China relations. Or scroll back through the website to remind yourself about what we covered in each of these topics. In the end, tell me about one thing that you learned in this class that will stick with you (and something that you think every American should know). What did we learn about that topic in class? Why was it interesting or memorable to you? What further questions do you have about that topic? Do you see yourself continuing the learn about that topic either in future academic courses, or on your own? Finally, what is something that you wish we had learned more about in class this year? And feel free to add in anything else you'd like me to know about your experience in America's Response this year. Thanks! Hi Everyone,

Hi Everyone,
Here is the assignment for the next two classes:
Assignment #34 1. Watch: Tank Man About the Film: On a fateful day in June 1989, the world became fixed on the bold image of a lone man staring down a procession of tanks in Tiananmen Square, Beijing. While trying to unearth the story behind this courageous man, the producers of The Tank Man uncover additional stories about the clash between the communist government of the People's Republic of China and those who advocate for a more open, democratic society. In this film FRONTLINE explores a society in transition 17 years after the demonstrations at Tiananmen Square. China has become open for global business, but it remains closed to a free media and available information. *While you watch please know that this documentary was released in 2006, so when they talk about the world "today" just keep that in mind. 2. While you watch answer the viewing questions. Go to Google Classroom Assignment #34 for the questions. Hi Everyone,
