Hello Everyone,

I've copied the assignment descriptor below. Get to work! The project is due the day we return from Thanksgiving Break, Monday 11/27! Final Unit Assessment You have been asked to create an educational resource for 6th graders at TAMS learning about the world's refugee crisis and issues related to immigration to America. Below is a detailed description of what is required for your video Necessary Information: You resource must include the following information: A. Data/Statistics of the refugee crisis
B. A description of what life is like in a refugee camp and, including your thoughts on the following questions (from Salam Neighbor Post Viewing Questions):
C. Key facts about refugees to the U.S.
D. What are the main steps in the screening process for a refugee gaining approval to live in the United States. E. An explanation of President Trump's current immigration order. What does it do? Who does it effect (which countries, which types of travelers)? F. Your opinion on the immigration order. Do you agree or disagree with it?
G. Immigration to US and Maine

What is the primary evidence used by the author to support his argument? A. Personal accounts of immigrants coming to the US B. A comparison of immigration levels with crime rates C. Survey data on American public opinion on immigration D. Comparison of education levels between immigrants and native born residents 3. Which sentence below serves as the best evidence to the answer of the previous question: A. "As it happens, a swift glance at the data handily undermines Mr Trump’s case that Latin American immigrants are prone to crime." B. "Crime has fallen even as the proportion of Americans born on foreign soil has grown, and as rates of unauthorised immigration have gone up, as illustrated by these graphs from the Immigration Policy Center." C. "As a general matter, individuals with less education are more likely to get locked up." D. "It's worth pointing out, as immigration opponents are quick to do, that incarceration rates jump considerably for the American-born children and grandchildren of immigrants." 4. "It's worth pointing out, as immigration opponents are quick to do, that incarceration rates jump considerably for the American-born children and grandchildren of immigrants. Thus, the incarceration rate of the American children and grandchildren of Mexican immigrants is about twice that of native-born non-Hispanic whites, and about half that of native-born blacks. It's an interesting and puzzling fact that certainly deserves attention when considering the effects of immigration and the challenges of assimilation. " What is the author's purpose for including the paragraph above: A. To imply the argument can be easily opposed B. To add an interesting and intriguing fact to support the hypothesis C. To analyze an additional piece of evidence in support of the main point D. To qualify the argument with a relevant counter-point. 3.
